Passing of the Torch
AGE
Chiefs,
Y2K is our year, our year to make changes and our year to recognize those who will make changes in our future Air Force. Several AGE Chiefs got together and discussed the initiating of what we hope to become a meaningful and truly worthwhile tradition in our AGE community. The passing of their Chief Stripes ... this is not a new concept, the AMMO Chiefs have been carrying on this tradition for years ... The AGE Chiefs are ready to embark on a similar journey.
Retired AGE Chiefs willing to partake will identify a recently selected AGE Chief and prepare a letter of record to accompany a set of their Chief Stripes. The Letter and Stripes will be sent to the New AGE Chief they have selected ... in the future we hope to be able to quickly identify Newly Selected AGE Chiefs and be able to get letter and stripes out as soon as possible ... A truly heartwarming event to include in a Chief's Pin-On Ceremony. Either way, to receive stripes for Pin-On or to receive ... truly and honor.
The AGE Ranger site will host a "Sample Letter" for Chiefs to use at your discretion and will also host a record of stripe wearers -- past and present.
Nutshell
version of Ground rules ..
1)
Keep all Retired Chiefs willing to partake in passing of their stripes in the
loop so we do not duplicate or leave someone out who is deserving of carrying on
the torch.
2) Identify
New AGE Chiefs and the Organizational Address of the selected Chief; make
determination of -- if you want to send through their commander or right to the Chief.
3)
Retired Chiefs - Send a letter to record the event along with a set of your
stripes ... Note: if you are the first in-line ensure you identify
yourself and dates worn ... if you are a subsequent wearer, please list
all who have worn the stripes in the past, their dates and include your dates in
the letter.
4) And finally, ensure AGE Ranger Site is in the loop to document historic event.
